Enema

An enema is a procedure used to clean the bowel of feces. A bulb-like bag is filled with a fluid that is used to stimulate bowel movement. Attached to the bag is a long, thin tube that is inserted into the . As the liquid travels from the enema bag through the tube it enters the anus and then moves into the colon.

Barium Enema

A barium enema is a procedure used to examine the lining of the colon and rectum. The procedure is also called a lower gastrointestinal series.

Barium refers to barium sulfate, a chalky chemical that appears white on X-ray film. Enema refers to any fluid pumped into the rectum through the anus. After the barium sulfate liquid makes its way to your intestines, a series of X-ray pictures are taken. In these X-rays, the white barium fluid allows some abnormalities in the lining of the intestines to appear dark. Air may be pumped into the intestine during this procedure to help sharpen the outline of the intestinal wall.

This test takes about 45 minutes. It can be done as an outpatient procedure, meaning you don't have to stay overnight in a hospital. Although the X-rays themselves are painless, the enema may cause some slight discomfort. You may feel full or gassy.

Here's some common myths about enema:

Myth #1: It is Difficult
Reality: Quite contrarily, it is one of the easiest methods of thorough colon cleansing. Following the instructions as provided in the enema instruction booklet will make you aware how wonderfully easy the procedure is.

Myth #2: It is Habit Forming
Reality: In nature cure, patients who were given enema for months did not take even a day to leave it or live without it.

Myth #3: It Weakens the Intestine
Reality: It never weakens the intestine and rectum; instead taking enema rationally activates and strengthens them.

Enema greatly contributes to the strength of the digestive system. It improves the blood circulation not only to the large intestine but also to the organs of the whole digestive system. It improves the digestion of food and also improves the secretion of the digestive juices/ enzymes.

Totally agree, "death begins in the colon", so I know that it is not addictive and thanks to enemas I was able to get my life back! I have moved on to colonics instead of the enema bag. It is much more convenient.

@beachlover,

Would you prefer enema over oxygen cleansing? Why or why not?

Enema is a good remedy for colon cleansing. Some thought it to be scary, but as far as enema cleanse is concerned it is safe and can be done even without the presence of health practitioner.

Enemas scare me as well. I know they've been around for a long time, but I've heard way to many horror stories about when stuff goes wrong. I do realize that it's a very, very small percentage of people that get hurt from them, but I'm not taking that chance when there are other proven and beneficial methods out there.
